Making Music, Having Fun, Making Friends.

Friends of Oddfellows Brass

We understand that not everyone wants to play a brass instrument, beat a drum, or gallop around a Glockenspiel, but they would like to be involved in some of our activities according to their skills and time available to them.

"Friends" of the band are encouraged to be active in the day-to-day running of the band, so they can be found doing any of the following

  • Helping to post newsletters to supporters
  • Put out posters for concerts and events (essential when we’re off our home patch!)
  • Minor repairs of uniform, music, or building
  • Man the merchandising stall at events
  • Run the Raffles, or sell tickets at concerts
  • Source vital "kit"
  • Drive the instrument van to events
  • Help to maintain the bandroom grounds
  • Help to maintain and clean the bandroom interior
  • Act as "2nd drivers" for our disabled players
  • Take official photos at events
  • Be band "roadies"

We appreciate our "Friends" and ensure a warm welcome, a lot of laughter, and some decent cake and coffee when we get together to do the planning, etc.
If you would like to be a "Friend" of the band, please contact the Band Manager for details.
(You need to be over 17 to be a ‘Friend’ of the band, unless you have a family member in Oddfellows Brass)
